Sixty years ago, this ranch in the south Denver suburbs began life as a three-bedroom starter home. Over the years it gained a finished basement but needed a more substantial update to address the typical shortcomings of homes from that era: small bedrooms, not enough bathrooms, limited closet space, and a choppy floor plan.
Extending the house 12 feet to the rear created space for a new primary suite with a private bathroom and spacious closet as well as a larger second bedroom and an additional storage closet. The dining room moved to its own space overlooking the back porch and patio, enabling us to enlarge the kitchen and open it up to flow into the living room. All while keeping the mid-century modern curb appeal!
Jeff was wonderful to work with throughout the process of our home renovation. Not only did he help us bring our vision to life through his architectural designs, he also referred us to other professionals in the field.Aimee and David Baker, Owners
The new full primary bedroom suite allows the children to now have their own bathroom, and gives the parents a private space complete with its own outdoor patio.
Removing the wall between the existing kitchen and living/dining area allows light to fill the entire space.
The separate dining room takes advantage of mountain views to the west through large windows. A sliding glass door leads to a covered porch and backyard patio space for outdoor living and better indoor/outdoor flow.
